My story

Do you need a running buddy who cannot get enough of chasing tennis balls?! Zamboni the bog dog may be the one for you! Zamboni is a playful, affectionate, big boy weighing 94lbs. This `adult puppy` is full of energy and loves interacting with people. He’s eager to be let out of his kennel and enjoys being petted and cuddled, though he may be a bit jumpy at times. Zamboni loves playtime, especially fetch, and can be easily redirected if needed. He is a favorite of shelter staff and volunteers. Zamboni goes on “Power Hour” excursions outside the shelter and has improved his walking-on-leash skills immensely since hiss arrival at the shelter. Zamboni is strong on leash and would benefit from a dedicated family willing to work with him on training and regular exercise! Zamboni is a good eater (hence his name, scarfing up his food and treats like a Zamboni on the ice), and he appreciates space while enjoying his meals. Zamboni can get along with other dogs but appears to be selective. He may show some initial excitement or reactivity, so supervised introductions are highly recommended. Zamboni has lived with a feline before, and it was not for him. He requests a house with no cats, please! Zamboni is a very special dog who is ready to bring joy and fun to one very lucky family. Come meet and adopt Zamboni the big black dog, today! This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the “shelter information” box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
