My story

Gus is one big, handsome, and affectionate Doberman with a heart of gold! This 6-year-old gentle giant was surrendered by a heartbroken young girl who could not take him along when she moved. Now, Gus is ready to find a loving forever home where he can thrive. 
Gus is a cuddle bug at heart! Once he feels comfortable, he loves to crawl into your lap, gaze into your eyes, and soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. He’s playful, sweet, and incredibly loyal, making him a wonderful companion for someone ready to give him the love he deserves. 
Gus has some endearing preferences that make him all the more lovable—he insists on wearing his pajamas at night and prefers to rest his head on a pillow! 
Gus is housebroken and walks well on a leash, though he might pull a bit when he’s excited. He would do best in a home with larger dogs to play with or with someone who has time to give him plenty of attention. He hasn’t been tested with children, but with the Doberman’s reputation for gentleness, he’s likely to do well after proper introductions. 
Gus is looking for a loving family who can appreciate his affectionate nature and give him the stability he needs. A home with larger dogs to keep him company or someone able to spend quality time with him would be ideal. With his sweet demeanor and love of snuggles, Gus will make a wonderful addition to a dedicated and caring household. Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard. If you have any questions or to adopt a dog an application must submitted.
