You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Michellin, a wonderful senior Great Pyrenees gentleman who is expected to weigh over 100 pounds after getting some much-need groceries. This sweet boy came to us as a stray and is now safe with NGPR in boarding, but he’d love a foster or furever home with his very own people! Michellin is housebroken, keeping a tidy kennel, and walks well on leash. He's a social butterfly who adores making new friends—both human and canine—showing no reactivity to dogs of any size. With a medium activity level, Michellin enjoys running and playing with other dogs while also cherishing quality time with his people. He's mastered the "sit" command and doesn't dig, rarely barks, and shows no resource guarding behaviors. This affectionate giant is known for his signature "hugs" when he enthusiastically jumps up to show his love. He travels well in cars and doesn't mind grooming sessions. Michellin would thrive in a home with a 5' fence, perhaps with a doggie companion, and would be happiest with a family who is ready to receive his abundant love and considerable hugs. If you're looking for a treat-loving, extraordinarily sweet companion who will fill your days with fun and affection, Michellin might be your pyrfect match! If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. April 5, 2025, 4:25 pm
