My story

Chuck is a 75 lb, 3-4 y/o shepherd mix with a heart as big as his goofy grin. This handsome guy is the perfect mix of playful and chill—his thick neck is made for jiggly scritches, and his expressive grunts and sighs will keep you laughing. Chuck’s perfect day? Start with some squirrel watching on the porch, maybe a nice walk (you’ll know it’s time when he gets his toes a-tapping and does a big stretch as you reach for the leash), a car ride (where he will insist on riding shotgun), and then a wind down with a cozy movie night on the couch—likely to end in his gentle snores filling the room. Bonus points if there are treats and someone willing to toss his favorite stuffed animal now and then. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, adores people and kids, and is always up to roll around on the floor with his people. Chuck loves a good routine—it helps him feel safe and settled. He enjoys the company of other mild-mannered dogs like himself, though he’s not a fan of cats. When it comes to affection, Chuck will nuzzle in for a cuddle just long enough to let you know he loves you, before stretching out to claim his own comfy spot nearby. Whether he’s being your playmate or your shadow, Chuck just wants to be near his humans. Chuck is all in when it comes to finding a family who will love him like he deserves.
