Minnie is a 5-year-old mixed breed with a heart as big as her love for treats! She arrived at Anderson on a transport from Alabama, a little on the skinny side, but she’s working on reaching a healthy weight with lots of love and good meals. Minnie is a smart girl who knows her basic training cues and is always eager to learn—especially when treats are involved! She is incredibly sweet, loves getting pets and cuddles, and enjoys going on sniffy walks to explore the world around her. If you're looking for a loving and loyal companion, Minnie is ready to steal your heart! When Minnie arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, she tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like Minnie to recover is with a loving and forever family. If you choose to adopt Minnie, the clinic staff will be there every step of the way, answering questions and offering support. The treatment process typically takes about three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep her safe while she recovers. The final step is a follow-up test six months after the treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful, and the staff anticipates that Minnie will make a full recovery! It’s also important to know that Heartworm is only transmitted by mosquitoes and cannot be spread directly from animal to animal. With the right care and lots of love, Minnie will be back to living her best life in no time! Stop in and meet Minnie in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mindy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
