Athena von Holzen is a gorgeous 3-year-old Central Asian Shepherd. She has the remarkable beauty and size of the Central Asian Shepherds, but as far as breed characteristics, it pretty much stops there. She would love to live someplace quiet without lots of noise and traffic. On walks, she showcases her calm nature, strolling at an easygoing pace at your side without pulling on the leash. She flourishes in peaceful, serene settings, whether it's basking in the warm sun or taking a quiet stroll through the neighborhood. Following a passing cat-test, Athena was fostered for awhile in a big, beautiful home, where she proved herself to be a calm and tolerant companion to the felines. She has the best house manners, is housebroken, quiet and easy going. She was a wonderful house guest, mostly curled up on the tile floor or sunning herself by the pool. Right now, Athena has to settle for hanging out in the office with the staff at the rescue. She would be the perfect companion for someone who works from home and needed a friend by their side. She won’t bother you until you are ready for a break. Rescued from the Inland Valley animal shelter. Weight: 80 lbs IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Athena von Holzen YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Athena von Holzen, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
