My story

Meet Trixie, a super sweet 4 year old spayed female terrier/lab mix, weighing about 65 lbs! This girl is a total LOVEBUG who loves everyone she meets! She has never met a stranger and just wants to love and be loved. Trixie is great with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. She LOVES to play and would love a fenced in yard of her own and maybe a doggo sibling to romp around with! She loves to chew on a good bone and walks well on leash. From Trixie's current foster:  "Trixie LOVES to play and take long naps after. She’s good with my cat Ginger, they mostly avoid each other but Trixie has been very good at not getting in her space and gentle when Ginger gets sassy with her. She’s the best! As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
