My story

Meet Sleeping Bear! Just like the serene yet mighty Sleeping Bear Dunes, this little adventurer knows how to enjoy both action and relaxation. He’s a Detroit Special - an American Staffordshire/Pitbull mix mom and a likely large breed dad, such as Mastiff, Shepherd, or Lab. When he’s not off exploring new corners of his world, you’ll find Bear taking a well-deserved nap or playing with his siblings. He's brave and curious, so he is always the first to check out anything new. Bear loves to play with adult dogs, people, and anyone else willing to join him on his adventures. He is a true foodie at heart and highly motivated by treats, making training fun, exciting, and productive. He is about 50% potty trained, fully crate trained, and is working on leash training. He knows some basic commands like his name, “outside,” and “inside.” Bear will do best in a home where there is another active and playful, yet laidback dog who can continue to guide him as he grows. He is cat friendly and kid friendly, too, making him a great addition to most families! Bear would prefer a family who is home regularly or willing to take him with them on adventures. Applicants MUST HAVE AN ADULT DOG in the home! Your adult dog will accompany you during the meet and greet, and will help select the best match based on who gravitates toward you and your dog. When you apply, you’re applying to meet all the puppies in the litter — not just one puppy! It’s all about chemistry! Adoption Fee: $325, which covers my spay/neuter when age appropriate, vaccines to date, deworming, microchip, and a clean bill of health. Ready to let Sleeping Bear roam into your life?
