Meet Bess! Bess entered the Humane Society of Imperial County as a stray, and when she wasn't claimed, we scooped her up to become a Frosted Face on February 13th. Bess is estimated to be 13 years old, and she weighs 8 lbs. Two days after Bess arrived, she was chosen to go on a two-week Frosted Fling, but that quickly turned into a Foster home! Bess's Fling Mom shares: "Bess is a superstar, and I’m so thankful that we get the chance to foster her. She brings us so much joy and is such a sweet little love bug. I know her forever family will feel the same! Bess loves everyone! While being with us, she has been around men, women, kids, and even young toddlers and is great around everyone. Even though Bess loves being around her people, she is also okay being left home with our other dog while we're at work. I check up on her throughout the day through our camera, and every time she’s fast asleep. Bess is a good girl around other animals! No need to worry if she’ll get along with other dogs you might already have, because she’s as sweet as can be and gets along perfectly with our dog and rabbit. Bess enjoys going for walks around the neighborhood and exploring the yard. She loves to lay out in the sun. She is perfect during bath time and great in the car. Bess loves food so much, and she will lick her bowl clean every time. I do my best to feed Bess three meals a day whenever I am home, and I’m happy to say that I can finally start seeing a difference in her weight. When first rescued by FFF, Bess was very skinny, but now she has visibly gained some weight! She is also doing great after a much-needed dental. I can only image how much better her mouth must be feeling now. As perfect as Bess is, her potty habits will need patience from potential adopters. She has accidents but specifically throughout the night. What has worked for us is throwing some potty pads on her bed and taking her potty right before bed. It’s the simple things in life that make Bess a happy girl and an easy dog. All she asks for is good food, a walk, or yard for her to explore, and most importantly, love and a cozy bed." Please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to meet sweet Bess.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bess, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
