My story

Rosie is a 3-year-old Yorkie-Maltese mix who weighs 10 lbs. She is a sweet little girl who loves her person. She happily follows her foster mom around and snoozes comfortably with her at night. Rosie bonds quickly and tightly with one person, so a one-person household would be best for her. Rosie came from a hoarding situation with over 29 dogs in the home, so she really watches the dogs in her foster home. She's learning to trust humans by watching how they interact with the other dogs. Her adoptive home should preferably have another small social dog, not larger than 15 pounds. Rosie can be very cautious around new people, so it may take a little time for her to warm up. Rosie is crate trained and doing very well with housetraining. She’s doing great with leash walking and really looks forward to her daily walks.  We require a securely fenced yard for Rosie so she can play supervised in her own yard, and a fenced yard helps with housetraining, and most importantly, it is an added layer of safety because Rosie is quick! Rosie’s hair grows fast, so her adopter needs to be able to provide regular brushing and frequent grooming.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be at least 4 feet with gaps no larger than 1 inch and attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing), it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business days. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500  May 31, 2025, 12:11 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rosie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
