My story

Scrunchie is a delightful Chihuahua mix with a youthful spirit that defies her senior status. Though she may be a bit shy at first, once she warms up, she’s all about love and adventure. With more pep in her step than most pups her age, Scrunchie would thrive in an active home where she can enjoy plenty of walks and playtime. She prefers gentle handling and will appreciate a patient adopter who lets her come out of her shell at her own pace. Not only is Scrunchie full of charm, but she also has perfect ears and a lovely underbite that makes her even more endearing. If you’re looking for a small but spirited companion with a winning smile, Scrunchie just might be the perfect match! Here's some notes from her foster: She's a complete sweetheart and a super love nugget. When it's time for her meal, she gets so excited she stands up and does a few spins! She's done really well sleeping on her own on her dog bed, she loves burrowing under her blanket. As her foster, I resist the urge to snuggle with her when we go to sleep because I want her to feel confident and at ease in her own space and it's adorable. I can take her through my local dog park and she does great meeting other dogs, she's very eager to meet her fellow canines. She just needs to learn to slow down and not rush / pull and tug to meet other dogs. I'm working on her walks, she's a great walker when the area is quiet (I live in the Lower Haight). She is a good girl. Has never went potty in the house and she's not a barker. We went to the local park yesterday and she was so happy to sit on a park bench and watch the action with a big smile on her face. Went for ride in car today, she was calm and quiet, no issues.
