My story

Meet Toni, an 8-year-old, 52 lb. brindle Pittie with a heart as beautiful as her coat. They say age is just a number, and Toni is a perfect example of that! She’s the ideal blend of playful energy and a calm, gentle nature, and she’s ready to share her loving spirit with a forever family. Toni is a true car pro—she hops right in and out with ease and enjoys the ride, especially when there’s a window to sniff out of! Her curiosity knows no bounds, and she’s always eager for an adventure. On a recent walk along the greenway, Toni initially had a burst of energy, eager to explore and take in all the sights and smells. After a little while, though, she settled into an easy pace, walking perfectly by her walker’s side for two miles. Toni is also a social butterfly—she loves meeting new people and is always happy for some attention. She knows the "sit" command and does so politely while being petted by park employees or joggers she meets along the way. At home, Toni is well-behaved and easygoing. She’s house-trained and behaves well indoors, enjoying a tasty snack like doggie meatballs or fro-yo without causing any trouble. She’s respectful of your space and won’t jump on furniture unless given permission. After a walk, she enjoys lounging on the couch for a nap. Toni loves being around her people, and she’s always interested in what they’re doing—whether it’s relaxing or playing. In the backyard, she’s a fetch enthusiast, happily returning the ball to you when she’s ready. If you’re gardening, Toni will happily supervise and keep you company while you plant flowers. Toni is also a joy to take out in public. She is well-mannered and enjoys quiet moments, like sitting outside a coffee shop, where she can relax and enjoy a puppuccino while her people enjoy their lattes. This sweet girl is a perfect mix of fun and relaxation, always up for adventure but equally happy to settle down for a nap or some quiet time with her people. She’s ready for a forever family who will appreciate her loving and easygoing nature. Could Toni be the perfect addition to your home? As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Toni, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
