My story

Wood is an energetic and social pup who thrives in the company of other dogs—most of the time! He did great in playgroup, showing promise as a helper dog, and enjoyed a fun, rough-and-rowdy play style. While he gets along well with most dogs, he can sometimes overcorrect when he feels another dog is out of line. This handsome boy was found as a stray on 3/4 and was adopted shortly after, but unfortunately returned to ACCT on 4/27 due to housing insecuities. Wood is ready to find a home where he can continue to learn and grow. With structure and guidance, Wood will make a fantastic companion for an active person or a home with playful canine friends. His recent adopter stated that "Wood is very playful it's not much he doesn't like. He's a good dog". He also lived with a dog and cat in his recent home. He is so friendly and loves saying hi to everyone. He also loves toys and wanted to play with all the toys at the event. He’s really dog friendly as well, and had a really great experience with the other dog there, Pony. He wagged for everyone he met, and he did really well on the leash when we took them for a walk around the block, and was not reactive to anything on busy market Street. He’s a really incredible dog and anyone would be lucky to adopt him. He is such a love. Per volunteer 4/29: Wood is a charming young man who will be satisfied as long as he has his ball. He loved fetch and just running around with his favorite toy! Playgroup notes 4/29: Not steerable, pushy / rough rowdy, aroused 03/07/2025 volunteer notes: I had Wood out on Friday 3/7. he sat patiently while i opened the kennel and was super easy to leash. he pulled a bit to get outside but then peed for a while so i’m assuming he’s trying really hard to stay house broken. After he finished significantly going to the bathroom, he was much easier on the leash. He loves tennis balls, chases them and sometimes brings them back. we went into the office to. spend some more time together and he showed off his cuddly side, diving into my lap with his belly up and butt in the air. such a goofy boy but also give ms you space if you want it! He’s petite and definitely on the smaller side of a medium dog. Super handsome boy! 03/06/2025 staff notes: Wood was so good in playgroup today and was so promising as a helper dog. Unfortunately, he overcorrected Batman and continued to go after him for not really doing anything. Other than Batman, he was very good with all of the other dogs in playgroup, and had a rough and rowdy play style. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
