**SEPTEMBER SPECIAL** This dog is eligible for $100 off the listed adoption fee, valid through the end of September! Offer applies to select dogs only, and adoption must be finalized by 9/30/2025 to take advantage of this offer. Meet Atticus, a super sweet ~3 year old neutered male terrier/Boxer/lab mix (see pic of Embark DNA results), weighing about 45 lbs! He is a friendly, goofy lovebug who just wants to love and be loved He also thinks he is a lap dog and he dares you to tell him otherwise! This special boy was picked up as a stray in east TN and spent some time in a shelter before being taken into rescue and transported up north. Atticus has a zest for life and you can tell by the way he looks at you with such love in his eyes that he is DEEPLY thankful for being given a second chance. He will make you laugh every single day with his silly antics, and then he will happily be your little spoon when you're ready for bed. Atticus plans to win you over with not just his good looks (have you seen that pouty face?!), but also with his charming personality! He is a fun, silly guy and will bring endless enjoyment to his new home. Are you willing to give him the chance to make your life more entertaining?! Atticus has been with his current foster family for 6 months and they absolutely ADORE him, and they are shocked that he has not been adopted yet. Atticus came to us with some leash reactivity, which has unfortunately caused him to not "show" well at adoption events. His foster family has been working hard with him on this, and Atticus is now e-collar trained and walks beautifully on leash, even surrounded by other dogs! We are so proud of the amazing progress he has made! Atticus is a great dog, and so darn cute, but he does have some resource guarding tendencies from time to time. Because of this, we believe the best home environment would be a place where he can be the only dog (unless you are well versed in working with dogs who resource guard), and no young kids in the house so that there are no unpredictable hands taking his prized possessions (we recommend older kids 8+ only). He has been fostered with many dogs and he enjoys playing and snuggling with his doggo friends, however we think he would feel more secure and content if he didn't have to compete with other dogs for food or attention. From Atticus's current foster: "Atticus is the welcome wagon and the life of the party! He loves meeting new people and dogs alike. Atticus doesn't know what the word stranger means because everyone is his friend. He has the sweetest most handsome face and is such a quirky, loving and playful guy. He loves vigorous rubs, butt scratches and lets us know how happy he is with his motor tail. He would love nothing more than to be a sidekick by day and cuddle buddy in bed by night. After all, he does have a PhD in cuddling! He gives the best hugs and kisses. He loves playing with other dogs, finds their level and adjusts his accordingly. He likes durable rubber chew toys, fetch, couch wrestling his 4 legged friends and zoomie marathons. We think he would do fine being an only dog since he's a bit of an attention hog and a jealous jelly bean at times. He is not a fan of his crate, 0 out of 10, would not recommend, cries like a little girl and nervous drools, but he WILL enter it for food. He tells us when he has to go outside. He is mostly great on leash except for when he gets excited about something or his prey drive is triggered (which is typical for terriers). He is very smart, expressive and knows basic commands like sit, stay, come, paw, lay down, dog out, leave it and drop it. He has good recall. Overall just your snuggliest, silliest GOODEST BOY." Atticus is medically up to date and housebroken. A 100% good doggo! Apply to meet this special boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2332671##
