Meet Cole — your future best friend and professional prancer! 🎉 This 10-pound bundle of joy is sweet as can be and has the heart of a galloping horse... or maybe a show pony. Either way, when Cole gets excited, he doesn't just walk—he dancy prancies his way into your heart 💃🐾. He’s basically a living musical number with extra tail wags. Cole is a people person (err, pup). Bring him anywhere — like JoAnn Fabrics — and he’ll leave with a fan club and probably a few compliments on his good looks. He might bark when strangers come into the home (he’s got some opinions), but out in the world? He’s all charm. He’ll gently place his paws on your leg for pets like he’s saying, “Hello, I’m ready for admiration now.” He loves toys—especially rope and plush ones—and is a tug-of-war champion 🏆. Warning: He’s extremely vocal about his victories. You might think he’s giving a TED Talk mid-game, but it’s just his way of saying “Again! Again!” Now, Cole’s past is a little cloudy, and his body bears some signs of a tough start—he has old scars and a previously broken rib. As a result, he’s sensitive to sudden movements, loud noises, and people holding big or hard objects (seriously, skip the giant chew toys). His defense mechanism is to hide, not bite—he’s a lover, not a fighter. He does best with calm dogs and respectful humans. He's still learning that the world isn’t scary, so sometimes he prefers the safety of his crate. And yes, occasionally he gets a little grumbly at night—kind of like that roommate who doesn’t want to be spoken to after 9pm. Totally relatable. 😴 Cole is also a treat-motivated genius. He knows “sit,” is working on “down,” and happily hops into his crate when asked. He doesn’t really respond to his name yet—probably because he’s waiting for a better one. Suggestions welcome. In short: Cole is quirky, hilarious, and full of heart. He’s got a few little habits, but don’t we all? Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
