My story

Courtesy Post: Lucky Needs a Long-Term Foster or Forever Home  This sweet soul is Lucky, and despite all he's been through, his spirit remains gentle and full of love. We’re helping a person find him a safe and loving place to land—either a forever home or a long-term foster. All supplies and medical costs will be fully covered for a foster. Lucky has lived a tough life and finally got the medical attention he needed. While we initially believed he was a senior, our vet says he’s only around 4–6 years old. He’s been neutered, treated for wounds, and received a full exam.  Medical Overview from the Vet: Good liver and kidney values Strong heartworm positive and we are treating with slow kill treatment which is Nexgard Plus monthly. He may have limited hearing Cranial nerve deficits from untreated ear infections, this has improved greatly after treatment. Limited sight, smell, and some facial muscle weakness due to nerve issues, this has improved greatly after treatment. Teeth are in good shape Despite these challenges, Lucky remains incredibly sweet with people. He loves attention and affection, and his teddy bear from Pet Supermarket is currently his favorite companion.  Home Recommendations: No cats, please He’s done okay with some dogs, but due to his sight and hearing limitations, a home where he’s the only pet may be best A calm, patient household where he can feel safe and loved.  Lucky has been through so much, and now he just needs a soft place to land. If you have the heart and home to foster or adopt this deserving boy, please reach out. Let's help Lucky finally get the life he deserves. Adoption fee is $250 To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at  https://www.streetpaws.org/home/adopt.     This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. If more information is needed regarding the pet email info@streetpaws.org. You must complete the pre-application to obtain approval to meet the pet.  June 17, 2025, 12:41 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lucky, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
