When Jughead first came to us, admittedly he did insistently meow and yowl throughout the night, and he made it very obvious that he did not want to be there—he was feral, after all, and had only been off the streets for a short while. There may be a bit of an adjustment period for him to a new habitat, but once we started playing with him, and stimulating him, the night-time meowing stopped within a few days! Now, Jughead, along with his siblings, isn’t overly-vocal, except when it comes to meal time, but he is definitely the loudest purrer of the bunch!Jughead can sometimes be a bit solitary, and loves himself a good hiding spot to call his own—he can also be very curious, sometimes to a fault, which means it would serve him well to have plenty of scratch posts and stimulation via play time.Juggy, as we affectionately call him, has opened up immensely, and has come around to not only accepting, but seeking out pets and affection. He’s an absolute sweetheart who might need a bit of coaxing sometimes, but it’s worth it to bring out his inquisitive, playful, and affectionate sides.Jughead can be adopted with his brother Archie or as a buddy to a friendly resident cat. He could also do well as the solo cat in the home with lots of love and playtime!Jughead has a mild heart murmur, which was investigated with a cardiac ultrasound. The results show that the murmur is likely benign, but further investigation may be required in the future if the murmur increases in intensity. He is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jughead, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
