What my friends at ACC say about me:Harry is a social, sweet, and affectionate cat with some potential behavior challenges. He was at the front of the kennel with a soft body and eyes upon approach. He is easily coaxed to follow the assessor's hand for petting to the right side kennel. He gently head bunts for petting, leans in hard for cheek rubs, and kneads the floor. When stroking his body, he raises his hips and tail, slightly flicking, in the air. During pick up, he is calm and relaxed, rests his front limbs on the assessor's arm, and allows petting all over when held and hugged for 10 seconds. After placing him back down, he continues to appreciate more petting and cheek rubs, he eats treats offered, and rubs his face and body on the door to solicit more attention at the end of the interaction.Harry interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle, and tolerates all petting. He has a bite/scratch history that was likely due to overstimulation. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience and demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior. We recommend that he go to a home with adopters who are well counseled in Overstimulation.A volunteer writes: Harry was left alone in an apartment for quite some time. Since November to be exact. Kind neighbors took note and care, contacting us to help Harry get the future he deserves. I'm not so sure Harry knows what to make of this recent turn of events and, tucking his head beneath his blanket in his most courageous efforts to hide, it seems like he'd rather be anywhere but here. Understandably so because the Care Center can be a lot on our gentle hearted friends and Harry is certainly that. While he's great at hiding his little face, I'm not completely sure that Harry wants to be so hidden that we'd forget him. Harry shows a heartbreaking gratitude for attention by softly purring and cuddling into my hand instead of under his blanket. Kneading his paws to a happy and steady beat, Harry may march to his own but is really hoping you'll join him. He's an absolute darling who would love to meet you.
