My story

Hi there! My name is Danish. I am a medium-sized, energetic and affectionate gal. I am a stray but staff noted that I really love people and show lots of tail wags when meeting gentle humans. At times, I have been reative to other dogs once outside of the shelter, so I may do best in a home without other dogs, or I`ll need a patient person with dog experience to help with slow, monitored introductions to other dogs in a new home. No one knows how I might behave around cats so caution and proper introductions will be needed there as well, I may also do best in a home with no cats. I am sweet and eager to please people, so I`ll make a great companion in the right home.INSIGHTS FROM MY ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`Danish was such a SWEETIE!!! We had so much fun on our outdoor walk around campus. She enjoyed sniffing all the flowers and picking up big sticks! She fell asleep on the car ride home after enjoying a Pup Cup! She is truly a sweet girl and we could definitely see her being a couch potato.``Today was my first outing with Danish, and if she’s not adopted soon, it won’t be my last! She’s a sweet, fun girl who eagerly jumped in the car for a walk at Duke Forest. At first, she pulled ahead to sniff everything but soon calmed and walked beside me. We met walkers and dogs along the trail. She barked a little—but I had her sit and let them pass. Her wagging tail showed curiosity more than anything. By the creek, Danish took a dip, then relaxed in the sun, quietly watching a heron. When she barked, it was to alert me of someone approaching, which I appreciated.Danish loves treats and takes them gently. She cuddled up to me, and I’m sure she’ll do the same with her forever family. This sweet girl deserves a loving home!`
