My story

Dog Name: Lorelai Breed: Boxer Sex: Female Age: 3-4 years Weight: 45lbs. Medical needs: Lorelai was diagnosed with arthritis and hip dysplasia. She takes a daily joint supplement, Dasuquin. Housebroken: Yes, although she has had the occasional accident when foster mom wasn't paying attention. Crate trained: Yes. She goes in with no issues and is as quiet as a mouse. Good in the car: She doesn't seem to love it, but once you put her in, she stays put. Good on a leash: Not yet. We are working on going for short walks in the neighborhood. Energy level: Medium, once she becomes comfortable. Need a fenced-in yard: Yes, she does not enjoy going out on a leash and at this time and needs a fence. Dog Friendly: Yes. Lorelai hasn’t met a dog she doesn’t want to play with and be friends with! If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive home? YES!!! She loves ALL dogs. People take time to earn her trust and affection, but dog friends are the best! Cat Friendly? Unknown. Can be tested. Kid Friendly: Unknown. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Children under 10 are not recommended. She is still learning that all people aren’t bad but does get scared of fast movements and loud noises. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Lorelai came from a neglectful living situation. She basically lived outside with lots of dogs for her first years of life. Because of this she has very few socialization experiences. However, Lorelai has come a very LONG way since she arrived in November. She LOVES other dogs and she is learning to trust people. She was very timid at first, but her confidence is growing every day! Now that she’s coming out of her shell, her personality is really starting to shine! She’s super playful and has the most adorable head tilt! She gets the cutest zoomies, but she also loves her naps. Lorelai THRIVES with other dogs - the more the merrier in her book! Lorelai isn't ready to be a dog who loves new experiences and adventures. She will need a more quiet environment with patient adopters. Her ideal family will encourage her to try new things, while understanding her more reticent nature. She is a sweet and well behaved girl ready for her forever family.
