My story

This gorgeous 5 year old, 80-pound girl is a mix of German Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, American Pit Bull Terrier, Chow Chow, Siberian Husky, and 11 other breeds. Mimosa is a well-rounded girl—she loves cats and does well with dogs after a proper introduction. She’s also house trained, kennel trained (although she is trusted to stay in the home without being kenneled), and loves her daily walks. Mimosa is nervous in new situations, and may bark at first when faced with something unfamiliar. But with time, patience, and reassurance, she settles in and becomes a huge snuggle bug. She’s most at ease in a quieter setting so a home without kids or teens would be best. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend and walking buddy, Mimosa might just be the one for you! We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##1310535##
