My story

Theo von Tengen is a magnificent, 3 year old sable German Shepherd. It didn’t take the volunteers long to label Theo "perfection" after a few minutes. He is so stunning and gentle. We don’t know his story other than he came from an animal shelter, but he looks like he was well cared for and trained. He knows his commands. Like all our other dogs, he gets excited when he walks out of the kennel, but once we round the corner away from the rescue, he walks right by your side. He is very social with other dogs and doesn’t take issue with many different personalities. Taking pictures of him was like a dream, he does whatever we tell him. We think he was a model before he came to us. :-) Theo might just be the dog you have been waiting for. Only one little thing: as amazing as he is, he is not a fan of cats, so he will need a home without any felines, please. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
