My story

Meet Smokey – a 7-year-old pit bull mix I adopted from Union County. He’s a big snuggler who loves to be close to his people and curl up under blankets. He deserves more time and attention than I can give right now. It has been challenging with blending families and adding a few more kids in the mix who have allergies to him. When it comes to other dogs that I introduce him too, he plays well. When the dogs come into our yard, it’s more territorial, so he doesn’t come off as friendly. He is great with our youngest son who is almost 2. When the older kids play or have friends over he gets really excited, so then I kennel him. He’s best suited for a home with a fenced-in yard where he can run and play safely. Smokey is gentle, loyal, and full of love—he just wants to be near his humans.
