My story

ABOUT HARPER Harper was recently surrendered to us along with his brother, Alvarado, after their previous owner could no longer care for them. Both brothers are on the shy side and are still adjusting to their new surroundings in the free-roaming cat room here at HAP. Harper is the more outgoing of the two and, with a slow approach and a bit of patience, he’ll come right over for head scratches, his absolute favorite! Once he feels comfortable, he’ll reward you with loud purrs and affectionate headbutts, clearly asking for more love. Another thing Harper can’t resist? Food! This charming young tuxedo boy hasn’t met a treat (or meal) he didn’t like. While he’s still warming up to playtime, he’s been very tolerant of the other cats in the room, and we believe he’d do well in a home with feline friends once he’s fully settled. We'll continue to update his profile as he continues to build his confidence. In the meantime, if Harper seems like the homerun cat for you- stop in today to meet him! Who knows - maybe it'll be a grand slam! If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.
