My story

Hi, my name is Coquito!  I’m a six-year-old female terrier blend and I weigh 12 pounds. I am smart and curious and always ready for a cuddle.  I’m looking for a loving family that will help me feel safe and is ready to teach me new things. General Behavior: Coquito is a sweet pup who is happiest when she is with her people.  She has some anxiety separation when away from them and also when meeting new people. But when her humans return home, Coquito is so excited to see them, she bounces up and down on her two hind legs. Likes & Dislikes: Coquito enjoys naps in soft places and being close to her humans. She is developing an appreciation for toys and will run and play with soft toys more each day. She is also interested in chewing small Nylabones. She loves the outdoors but does not like car rides. Training: Coquito is learning basic manners and walks well on a leash.  She’s food-motivated which makes training a breeze.  She is house-trained in her foster home and will continue to do well if let out on a regular basis. Medical: Coquito will need her monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventive medicine. Other Animals: Coquito will be happiest as an only dog as she has anxiety around other dogs as well as cats. In her foster home, she does well on leash walks at quiet times in the neighborhood. Avoiding other dogs is best for Coquito to remain calm and for her and her human to enjoy their walks together. Children: Given her small size, Coquito needs a home with older children. Home: Coquito requires a single-family home where she has less exposure to people outside her own family. She can be left alone in the home for several hours in a secure place. Grooming: This pretty little girl will just need regular baths and brushing to help her look and feel her best. Overall: Coquito is a sweet and affectionate pup who is easy going and happy in an environment that provides security and a routine.  She will need a patient family to continue her training and give lots of cuddles.  In return, she will give back buckets of love, enthusiasm, and loyalty! Are you the one for Coquito? Please visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption donation is $350. ##2283147##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Coquito, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
