My story

~ I can live in any size home. I can be vocal at times and may not be suitable for apartments/condos.~ I want to live with female adults only.~ I prefer to be the only pet so I can get all the attention.~ I have my moments of energy and need to get some exercise every day.~ My behavior is very typical for my breed. I would prefer to live with someone who has Chihuahua and/or Dachshund breed experience.Meet Kai, the lovable 6-year-old Chihuahua Dachshund mix (Chiweenie) who’s looking for a new home after being surrendered due to his owner’s health. This sweet, 7.3-pound boy has a tan coat and an adorable personality that will melt your heart. Kai is a loyal one-person dog who forms deep bonds with women and truly thrives in a female-only home. For his comfort and well-being, Kai needs a household with no men living in it. He’ll be happiest snuggling up with his favorite woman in a calm, quiet space that’s just for them. He’s happiest when curled up on your lap, getting all the attention he craves. While Kai does have a medium energy level, he prefers quiet time and cuddles over running around, though he does enjoy playing with squeaky toys and chasing after a toy for a game of fetch. Kai is quite expressive, especially when visitors or unfamiliar people come around. His big voice makes him well-suited for a quieter home with lower foot traffic, where he can feel more relaxed and comfortable. Kai has had little to no exposure to children and can feel overwhelmed by them, so he’s looking for a calm, dog-savvy adult owner who can offer him the stability and reassurance he needs. Kai would also prefer to be the only pet in the home. Kai is house/crate/pee pad-trained and loves to be brushed, which makes him a great little companion for someone who enjoys a quiet, low-key lifestyle. His behavior is typical for his breed, and with the right owner, he’ll make a loyal, loving companion.
