My story

Kylie is a 2-5 year-old, 15-pound female terrier mix from Alabama. Kylie was rescued from a known abuse situation and is very timid at first and scared easily by fast movements or loud noises. Kylie is extremely cuddly once she feels comfortable and becomes a velcro dog once she is attached. She follows her foster mom everywhere. She loves going on walks and is usually great at not minding other dogs or people. She will get spooked with loud noises or if anyone tries to pet her. Her future owner should advocate for her space and not allow strangers to approach or pet her. When someone enters the apartment, she barks, runs, and hides, then comes out with her tail wagging to sniff the person. She'll then usually return to her bed while they visit. While in her foster home, she was wee-wee pad trained and has been adjusting well to an outside bathroom schedule. Her family will need to keep her in a consistent routine to keep up with her progress. She gets very attached to her human and has improved so much being left alone. Her foster mom has been working on this with Kylie, and she's made great progress and settles down after 30 minites or so. She is also doing well in a crate when left home. She will do well with a forever home who will help her keep up this good work!  Kylie now lives with both dogs and cats. She is great with other dogs and tries to play with cats, but she may annoy a resident cat who prefers their space. Due to her initial fear and anxiety, Kylie should live in a home without children. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Kylie, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2264063##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kylie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
