** $525 in pledges for the rescue that pulls! ** Bianca ACCT-A-216791 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Bianca must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER and/or ADOPTER by Tuesday, April 29th at 10AM. Should Bianca's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Found terrified and darting along a highway on April 4th, Bianca arrived at the shelter shaken and unsure of everyone. In just a few weeks, this brave girl has blossomed into a gentle, affectionate companion who now greets friends with a wagging tail and an eager “sit” for treats. She walks beautifully on leash, enjoys a good game of fetch, and will happily climb into your lap for booty scratches once she trusts you. Bianca is still building confidence, so sudden touches or chaotic environments can make her tense. When that happens, she’ll freeze, lip‑lick, or give a soft grumble to say she needs a moment. With calm reassurance and clear guidance, she relaxes quickly and is easily redirected. Because she’s sensitive to fast movements and high energy—especially around other dogs—Bianca is looking for an adult‑only home that can offer structure, patience, and plenty of praise. Give this smart, soulful lady the steady routine she craves, and you’ll see her confidence soar. Bianca is ready to leave the shelter behind and start the next chapter of her life with someone who believes in her as much as we do. Reactive at the gate toward Meridian, but responded well to correction. Approached Kent with somewhat stiff posture, mid- to high-tail wags to greet. Removed from yard after she vocally corrected Kent during some high-energy greetings between himself, herself, and Meridian. Per staff 04/22/2025:Hard barking and growling in crate 04/20/2025 Volunteer Notes I took Bianca out today and she was very easy going. She was easy to leash and return. Bianca walks pretty well on leash, only pulls moderately sometimes. She knows sit and takes high value treats very gently. She played with the tennis ball recently but released the toy easily. She does a bit of lip licking and can be stiff at times (mostly when she saw other dogs she would get stiff and high tail) but nothing too concerning. She solicited attention from me often and accepted pets, even sitting in my lap when I was giving her booty scratches. 04/19/2025 Given recent notes, changing to Gold from Blue 04/18/2025 Blossoming.I took Bianca out for a walk after finding her crate disheveled (and her paperwork chewed up). She was a pleasure to walk — peed almost as soon as we got outside (she was clearly holding it in) and pooped in the yard. Excellent on leash, attentive to her surroundings but sociable when prompted (would approach with wags and a relaxed face, big smile). Tolerated all handling. Became tense and grumbly at the fence toward Champagne as she passed on her own walk, but after meeting her at the fence a second time later on, noticeably relaxed and it was easy to redirect her attention with a bit of chatter and leash pressure. Waited very patiently as I cleaned out her crate and reentered without issue. An easygoing, sensible, retiring lady. 04/05/2025 KENNEL PRESENTATION: Bianca was laying down on her bed when I approached. She came up to the front when I called for her with a waging tail and neutral eyes. She was easy to leash and came right out once secured. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally – walks very well on leash HANDLING : In the room, Bianca came up with me with neutral eyes and a tense body and sniffed me all over. I reached my hand out for her and she looked up with dilated eyes. I touched her side and back to which she froze up and did some lip licks. She was tolerant but not comfortable at all. I gave her some space and she came up again, I touched her head this time which she flinched away from. I offered her some treats which she took very gently and sat down patiently for it. She knows sit, paw, and down. She is very nervous and not too comfortable with people or her surroundings but is doing so much better compared to yesterday. With some more time and patience, she will blossom. PLAY:No interest TOYS: No interest Per staff 04/04/2025: Fearful, fractious, use caution when handling. Bianca was super fearful and cautious in playgroup, stiff and avoidant but not reactive. Medical Notes 04/18/2025 Tech Exam – Complicated URI.
