My current foster writes:Goldie is a sweet, fascinating kitty with many wonderful sides to him....many yet to be discovered. He's like a good book you can't put down...each new chapter more interesting than the last.Being with Goldie is so rewarding. You can feel so good about your role in his life as you are a part of his progression from a somewhat fearful maybe misunderstood cat with a tough former life to a kitty who can thrive with just a little understanding and a lot of love!My previous foster writes: Goldie took a few days to warm up but is a very chill and relaxed cat. Garfield vibes. Goldie loves being gently petted on his head and around his face. He will watch TV with you. If your lunch or dinner smells good he will come and put his paw on you - he remembers his past life as a human. He's adorable and chunky and worth meeting! Also, he has not bothered any of my house plants.Another foster writes:Goldie has a heart of gold and loves to be close to his foster mom. He enjoys watching the birds and people from his window and batting his wand toys while perched safely in his toy tunnels. He would love to find a permanent quiet home with patient adults who will be rewarded with his sweetness once he comes out of his shell!A volunteer writes: Now that Goldie has had time to adjust to the Care Center, he's a different cat than the fearful, defensive guy we first met over the summer. These days, this handsome ginger greets humans at the front of his cat condo with curiosity. He solicits cheek rubs, then returns the love by head-butting human hands until he's had enough and retreats. But the cat adoption room is only supposed to be a pitstop on his journey to a forever home, so now he's looking for the right pet parents who will give him the space and security to help him build his confidence even more (and schedule lots of active playtime with toys, so Goldie can lose a few pounds--he's a big boy!). Looking for a couch potato cat who comes from a home and who needs a helping hand? Goldie is looking for you at the Care Center today.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.Goldie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors reported in the home and seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home. Primary Color: Buff Tiger Weight: 22.9375 Age: 9yrs 9mths 1wks
