Scrappy

My story

Scrappy is just that - Scrappy. He’s a little unfinished. A little unpolished. His siblings were gregarious and were adopted years ago. Scrappy waits in foster care fur someone to see that he’s special. He’s a little different. But he’s still a good guy. He’s an interesting guy who’s just a little shady. He keeps to himself mostly. He actually likes to be petted. He really leans into neck scritchies. But he hasn’t convinced himself that he really likes it. His fur says being petted is awesome. But his head says “beware of stranger danger.” Scrappy is indeed a good guy. He’s not a lap cat. Maybe one day he will be. He’ll share space with his human caregiver. He might nod and say “hey” in passing. He prefers the company of other cats. Or just himself. He’s a bit of a loner. And that’s okay. Scrappy is who he is. He needs someone who understands that or who has the patience of a saint and is willing to work at his turtle speed pace for socializing. Scrappy loves to curl up with his friend Murietta. She, too, is leery of people. They’re two peas in a pod. Murietta gets him. He gets Murietta. It’s a beautiful relationship. Scrappy is very bonded to his friend Murietta.
