Mildred (Milly) is a sweet, spunky lady ready to find her forever home. While she is shy at first, Milly becomes playful and affectionate in a peaceful environment where she feels safe and comfortable - she loves chasing her rubber ball around and she snuggles up right next to you when you are sitting on the couch or on the ground. She is a perfect companion for people who love a quiet night reading or watching TV. Head, chin, and lower back scratches are her favorites, but sometimes she just wants to hang out near you and will give gentle bites if she needs space! Milly has had dental surgery in the past and has no teeth, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying kibble, Churus, and wet food. She also has some persistent nasal congestion - besides an occasional snore, this doesn't inhibit her play at all and she doesn't require special medication for it. She has also tested positive for FIV. Her mouth surgery has given her a little grumpy face, but when she’s curled up next to you on the couch or making biscuits on her blanket, you’ll see for yourself what a sweetie Milly is! While Milly may take some time to fully settle in, once she gets comfortable, her personality shines through. Milly prefers gentle petting on her terms and appreciates when her boundaries are respected. She’s a big fan of routine and can be sensitive to changes in her environment, so a quiet, stable home without dogs would be ideal for her. If you're patient and willing to let her open up at her own pace, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal, sweet companion who’s full of personality! Age: 9 years (estimated) How I came to PAWS: Found as a stray Animal ID#: A179069 I am not at the shelter. Please email my foster parent at angelamchesler@gmail.com to learn more about me! **FIV is specific to the feline species, and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. It is spread from cat to cat via mating or deep puncture bite wounds. Thankfully, all our cats are spayed or neutered so mating is no longer an option! Since FIV does not spread through casual contact like grooming, sneezing, and food/litter sharing, FIV+ cats can live with other cats that have tested negative as long as the cats get along without fighting. _____________________________________ To adopt a cat, complete the application at phillypaws.org/catapp. To adopt a dog, complete the application at phillypaws.org/dogapp. To adopt a small animal, complete the application at phillypaws.org/small-animal-adoption-application.
