My story

Barbara is a lovely lady with a shy side. She`s looking for a loving home that can take things at her pace and let her warm up to them. She came in as a stray so we don`t know her history. She has been friendly and affectionate with the volunteers. In playgroups, she has been tolerant of the other dogs and may enjoy a home with other canines (although she wouldn`t mind being spoiled rotten as your one and only pup, either). She loves toys and butt scratches. She recently got a break from the shelter on a Dog Day Out: `We took her on a long walk around Unity Hill, she behaved wonderfully in the car, she jumped in without help and took her seat and waited patiently to arrive to the destination. She had polite leash manners, gentle with taking treats, no reactivity towards people or dogs. She was mainly just curious to see who was approaching and passing her. She is already trained she can sit and shake and doesn’t jump up on you.` She was pretty chill.Like all our adult dogs, Barbara will need to meet future canine companions before going home. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible. At the main campus, you can bring your dog along when you come for adoptions if you like. Barbara is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home!Her ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
