My story

Precious is as tender-hearted as her name suggests. When you first meet her, she may be trembling with wide, worried eyes, unsure of the world around her. But give her a soft voice, a gentle touch, and a little patience — and you’ll see her true nature bloom. Once Precious begins to trust, she becomes a velcro pup, glued lovingly to your side. She prefers snuggling in your lap over anything else, pressing her head into your arms for comfort. She’s incredibly submissive and craves closeness more than treats or toys. Precious would thrive in a calm, patient home with someone who can help her build confidence at her own pace. Not quite potty trained but it only happened once. 04/11/2025 staff notes: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Precious was pinned to the back of her crate when I approached. She was trembling when I opened the crate door with wide scared eyes and kept herself there as I slowly reached in with the leash. I threw a lasso from ears to snout and once secured she darted out to the back of her crated and pinned herself against the wall. I just used a baby voice and leash pressure and she came right out. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally, tries to run away, darts around HANDLING : In the room, Precious was pinned to my side like a velcro dog and did not leave me. I decided to sit on the floor with her as she was trying to crawl up my leg and she immediately ran and laid in my lap. She was so scared, trembling in fear as it tried my hardest to comfort her. I spoke to her in a baby voice and touched all over her which she accepted as she calmed down. I got up slowly and moved to type and she followed me to the bench again, trying to climb my leg. I picked her up to sit next to me and she sat into my lap. She was super sweet and submissive but extremely fearful, liking dark spaces and to be held. She declined all the treats I offered her and pushed her head harder into my arms. PLAY: Did not attempt TOYS: No interest 04/10/2025 staff notes: Precious is truly just that. She is a nervous girl but warms up pretty quickly with gentle touch and a calm voice. She is very sweet once she trusts you. And just wants to be by your side!
