Meet Rosey, a super sweet and affectionate pup who came to the shelter after her owner was incarcerated. Despite the big change in her life, Rosey has remained gentle, social, and full of love. In her kennel, she greets visitors with an excited wiggle and happy energy, patiently waiting to be leashed and head out for some fresh air. She walks nicely on leash with minimal pulling and enjoys sniffing around the yard. Once outside, she goes to the bathroom promptly, suggesting she’s trying to stay housebroken. Rosey thrives on human affection—she leans in for pets, accepts treats gently, and happily flops over for belly rubs. She's playful and shows interest in toys, sometimes taking possession of them during playtime. While she can get a bit excited and whiny when she sees a new toy, she’s easily redirected and quickly settles back down. Though she’s not a fan of returning to her kennel, a little encouragement goes a long way, and she always cooperates. With her sweet nature, cuddly personality, and gentle manners, Rosey is ready to bring joy and love to a new forever home. Video: Rosey, Ellie, Biscuit Bun, and Cherry: https://youtube.com/shorts/Th1c7FfLqoY?feature=share Behavior Notes: per volunteer 4/11: Rosey was so happy to come out for a walk. Outside, she peed right away. She was very wiggly and jumped on me with excitement whenever I called her a good girl! Extremely affectionate and playful. She didn't want to get back in her crate but got in easily when I went in first. Per staff 4/9/25: Took Rosey out with a new volunteer. She presented socially in kennel with two paws on her kennel door, but was easily leashed and led out. She walked nicely on leash. Once outside, she immediately went to the bathroom and frequently squatted to pee during our time outside. She enjoyed sniffing the grass and once in a yard, leaned against her handlers for petting, took treats gently, and allowed all handling. She was super sweet! She put the breaks on when being walked back to her kennel and I had to step in to return her. Per volunteer 4/8/25: Known history: stray in Kennel: I approached Rosey’s kennel where she remained very wiggly and excited. When I showed her my leash, she did a few jumps, but as soon as I put my leash in her kennel, she easily let me lasso her and patiently waited, then hopped right out of her kennel. Leash: minimal pulling Handling: in the room, Rosey remained very wiggly and allowed all handling. She even flipped over for belly rubs. She was a little jumpy, but easily redirected. She takes treats nicely out of my hand and knew how to sit. She did do some whining in a little bit of exit searching when I picked up a toy and switched it. She got really excited and she took possession of toys playing with them. She walks well on leash with minimal Pulling. When we got outside, she use the bathroom right away so I would say she’s trying to stay housebroken. She did not want to go back in her kennel but when I put one foot in her kennel she hopped right in.
