There is an adorable video of me on social media! Click here to experience the cuteness! Hailey is a gentle and thoughtful pup enrolled in our Shelter Scholars program, where she's working on managing kennel stress and learning how to relax through mat work. Using positive reinforcement and calming routines, Hailey is building the skills to settle more easily and feel safe in her environment. She's making steady progress as she learns to navigate the shelter world with a bit more calm and confidence each day. What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I don't always like to share my food, toys or bedding with other animals.I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some canine body language together!I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Hailey was a joy to have around, and quite a looker too! Her beautiful light caramel coat just shines and her adorable ears have a life of their own. In the apartment, she was a sweet and loving companion -- so ecstatic to be in a safe, quiet, cool place -- with toys! She loves to grab a ball and walk around with it in her mouth, just wiggling her body and tail with joy. She's happy to play fetch if you offer, but also seems content to entertain herself. At first, she was a bit anxious and alert about new noises and events, but she calmed down and was happy to chill at my side and get occasional belly rubs. I think some of her anxiety will dissipate over time with an owner that can show her she is safe and loved. This also translates to outside; she is a decent walker (and might even enjoy a little jog if you are so inclined) and she passes other dogs with just an occasional curious sniff -- no leash reactivity observed. She loves sniffing around in grass, so a nearby park would be great! Again, she can be a bit anxious and alert, distracted by activity and scared by loud noises, so she needs someone to help build up her confidence. I did notice that if you let her carry a toy or ball, she walks calmly right beside you, so maybe she just needs a little security blanket! I can tell that behind that bit of fearfulness, she is just the sweetest, most loving soul. Primary Color: Fawn Secondary Color: White Weight: 53.2 Age: 5yrs 3mths 4wks
