Waffles

My story

Meet Waffles, our 5-year-old sweet ginger tabby. Waffles is a bit wary living the shelter life and does not prefer the chaos that sometimes comes with it: other rambunctious cats, loud noises/voices, different smells, etc.  Waffles is NOT the kitty you would normally notice when you walk into the shelter.  You won’t hear him meow to get your attention during Open House, and he probably won’t poke his paw out to greet you either.  You may not even SEE him because he often likes to cover himself with his bedding, like a cute orange turtle.  However, if you take the time to “lift his shell” and look into his golden eyes, you can appreciate his quiet demeanor and experience his sweetness firsthand.  He will reward you with purrs as he nuzzles into your head scritches and rolls over for belly rubs.  Some people may look at Waffles as “special needs” because he is on a diet which supports good urinary health, but this diet makes sure he can be your snuggle buddy for a nice long time.  Waffles came from a home with four other cats so he can live harmoniously with other feline friends, especially low-energy friends who may also like to “loaf around” and just chill out.  A home with young children may not be the best for Waffles (he’s a quiet, low-key kind of guy), but he would probably get along well with older kids ages 12 and up.  Waffles would also do great in an apartment setting because he’s more reserved and respectful of his surroundings, and even when you do hear his voice it’s nothing more than a quiet “mew”.  Waffles is one of the gentlest, docile, hunks of affection you will ever meet.  He deserves a home where he will be showered with affection. If you are interested in meeting Waffles, feel free to stop in during our Open House hours:  Thursdays from 6:00-9:00pm and Saturdays from 11:00am-4:00pm.  His sweet personality has wooed both volunteers and visitors alike, and his adoption fee has been generously paid for by one of our loving shelter supporters.April 10, 2025, 5:02 pm
