Meet Luvia Storm a female 37lb pup estimated to be only 1 year old! Even though she is small in size she is large at heart and greets you with big smiles every time you approach her kennel. Luvia is extremely sweet and allows all pets (in fact she demands them), she is great on the leash and has done good with dogs in the shelter. She would love to join your home if you are willing to have her! Playgroup 4/11: Luvia Storm, Ellie, Cinnamon Bun https://youtu.be/Oe8PKrWqRrI 4/13 Day Trip Notes: 1. Curious/Inquisitive - Observes what interests her politely (People, squirrels, geese, and other dogs passing by) she doesn't charge at them, she doesnt bark at them. When I drive, she comes up from the back seat to watch the steering wheel turn, or her eyes follow the windsheild wipers moving. 2. Well behaved - A. Good on the leash - I took my time to build trust with her from the moment we were introduced. In the beginning - at pick up, she pulled because she was excited. By the end of the day, with trust and assertive energy present, she relaxed and followed my lead. She would observe and mimic what I do. If I hop on a rock she will watch and join me. If I sit on a bench she will climb and then sit on the bench. If I lead in an opposing direction her attention will divert and she will follow and start sniffing around. This makes her good on the leash in my book, but I believe its only because I got her to take interest in me first. B. Great in the car - Our first stop was a dunkin drive thru for a pup cup. Afterwards, we drove to Tookany Creek nature trail, then we drove to Penn Treaty Park, and finally we walked around the surrounding neighborhood in Fishtown. In the car, most of the time she slept, likely because we did a lot of exploring and running in between each destination. I drove at a moderate speed and put on music on medium. When she was awake, she would glance outside the window and watch the people and sights going by. Every now and then she'd see what I was up to (driving) and be in range to get a quick chin scratch or pats. 3. Friendly/Lovely - She is a snuggle bunny. We had a lot of adventures today, and proper rests for them too. When we sat together at the trail, taking breaks, she'd curl up in my lap, or sit on my leg ijn the attempt. When we got back to the car, she snuggled against me and dozed off. I wrapped her in my hoodie. She snores really cute. She played with me in the car, while parked, during one of our breaks - she wagged her tail and rolled around on her back paws in the air. She has a lazy and chill playstyle. When trying to play with her in the park, she was more interested by her surroundings. 4. Energy level - Pretty good energy 6-7/10 , Overall, she's a more chill dog rather than athletic, but she enjoys exploring. She'd sleep if I am driving, She sits still If I am sitting/still. When its time to go to the hike she will run around with me, sniff the trees, watch the water run or the birds in the sky. In the fishtown neighborhood, she'd curiously look into the open doors of dance classes and flower shops. She loves her freedom of exploring, and then after, will pass out in your lap and snuggle. __ I hope all of this information and her pictures I'm about to send, will get her placed very soon. She's such a sweet pupper and a team player. The sparkle in her eyes taking everything in quietly as she roamed Philly with me and then just snuggle up next to me is everything. Behavior Evaluation: Approached her kennel and she was laying on the bed, got up when I talked to her. Easy to leash with low tail, soft eyes, ears back. She walked through the kennels without pulling. She was social and affiliative to the handlers, solicited attention with soft body language (tail down wagging, ears back, soft eyes, ears back, loose body). Takes treats gently. Handled all over her body, she was tolerant and solicited more touching when we stopped. No interest in toys. Dog meet with King: met thru the fence, head down, ears back, tail low wagging, soft eyes, approached to the side, sniffed and averted gaze and walked away. Dog meet with Cinnamon Bun: she was friendly, social, affiliative, soft body language. GREEN
