My story

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Thelma How anyone could dump Thelma and drive away from this sweet soul is beyond my comprehension. Thelma is a black lab mix around 2 1/2 to 3 years old and 55ish pounds. Loyal, smart, calm and so appreciative of her new beginnings. Her endearing eyes whisper of her worries and past let downs. But I know, that she knows, she is safe now.Looking at her belly she's been allowed to have litter after litter. Her teeth show how long she has been gnawing at fleas. And on top of all that she is heartworm positive from not receiving preventatives. All of these things her previous owner should taken care of for her, but didn't. Instead, they dumped her. Thelma deserves a redo, a 'let's try this again'. But this time we are going to show her how a beloved family member is supposed to be treated. How it feels to be loved and taken care of and what forever truly means! Here are some of Thelma's amazing qualities: - House trained - Great with kids - Wonderful with other dogs - Loves the cats - Obsessed, and I mean obsessed, with belly rubs - Can sit and shake on command - Stays right by your side- Walks easy on a leash- Loves to cuddle- Calm, sweet and very gentle- Loved playing in the snow and ice She will be available to go to a new home around May 1, and we would love to have someone lined up for her when she is ready. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 For questions, email apps.aasr@gmail.com. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
