Meet Sonny! In March, Sonny, Jackie, and Boo Boo, and Sonny lost their dad to cancer and ended up at Santa Barbara Animal County Services (SBACS). He had no kids of his own, but these three dogs were his babies, and he was so sad in his final days knowing they would be without him. Sonny and Jackie are parents to little Boo Boo. We have some friends at SBACS who reached out to us directly about taking this special family. We said "Yes!" right away! All three of the dogs have gotten to go on Frosted Flings with volunteers since being transferred from Santa Barbara Shelter. All three are potty trained, play with toys, are great with cats, and are cuddle buddies! They would all thrive with at least one dog friend in the home. Sonny and Boo Boo went on a Frosted Fling together, and their Fling Mom reported afterwards: "Sonny is such a sweetheart and he has such a fun and snuggly personality! He runs to the door as fast as he can when I walk to the front door and grab his leash. He loves going for walks and taking in all the smells, is perfect on a leash, and has a good pace. Sonny rides great in the car and naps quietly in the passenger seat. He loves squeaky toys and will run after them if you squeak/throw them and run around with them in his mouth - it’s too cute! Sonny does great with other dogs. He’s been perfect with my dog, and he and Boo Boo are two peas in a pod. Sonny and Boo Boo sleep perfectly through the night snuggled up together in a dog bed. Sonny loves pets and to snuggle in your lap. He'll gently paw at you if you stop petting him to let you know he wants more and will roll over for belly rubs. I think furniture privileges are a must for him since he loves nothing more than to snuggle up in a blanket on the couch. He's a pro at burrowing under blankets and will completely disappear getting all cozy under them. I picked him up the day after his dental and he didn’t have the best appetite at first, but starting a few days after that, he eats great, so I think he's feeling better. Boo Boo and Sonny aren’t necessarily bonded, but they do find comfort in each other. I think they would both really thrive in a home with dogs, whether that’s each other or other dogs. When I get home, Sonny greets me at the door with his tail wagging like crazy - he's such a loving pup. Sonny is such a special pup and whoever adopts this sweet boy will have hit the jackpot!" Please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to schedule a time to meet one, two, or all three members of this special family!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sonny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
