Raven

My story

Raven is, as we like to say in the South, the whole package. She’s short, stocky and ridiculously cute with a big, big personality. Her foster says she’s a Velcro dog who can smell a chicken wing in the grass from 3 feet away and is all about the snacks. We feel her. Raven’s foster writes, “She’s great on a leash. She loves it when I break into a run and she will run like the wind until I have to stop. She doesn’t seem to run in the gated dog area though, only on the leash. She doesn’t really pull hard on the leash and can keep a good pace but she will sniff everything for every inch of ground she covers :-).” Her foster has a cat, and Raven is getting used to her. The foster says, “She’s ok with the cats but I don’t trust her off leash. Her and my cat Pistachio get along the most but she is quite sturdy and will lunge and bark which cats don’t appreciate. They stare and sniff each other and have played well a few times though.” Raven has meet or seen several dogs on her walks in the neighborhood and seems to like them and feel comfortable around them. She’s not had a chance to form a friendship with a neighborhood dog but likely would do well with a more social, playful dog in her adoptive home. Raven’s foster writes, “ She loves to go for long walks around the neighborhood and she loves to hang on the couch or in her bed under my desk while I’m working… She hasn’t met a treat she doesn’t like to be honest” Her foster says she likes carrying her stuffed animal toys from one area of the house to another. She is mostly house-trained with 2 or 3 isolated accidents involving peeing in the house, which is totally expected during the transition into a new home.
