My story

Meet Athena (aka Runa), a super sweet 1 year old spayed female Aussie shepherd mix, weighing about 40 lbs! Athena is a friendly girl who is good with other dogs, people, and older kids 8+ (due to the fact that she is young and exuberant and may unintentionally knock over a young child). She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. She loves bones and chews, and she enjoys playing with other dogs and running around outside! She would love a fenced in yard of her own to get all her zoomies out! Athena is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this sweet girl today! As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
