My story

Meet Hazelnut, a super sweet ~3-4 month old female schnauzer/terrier mix puppy! She was taken into rescue along with her sisters, Pistachio and Macadamia. Unlike her scruffy schnauzer-looking sisters, Hazelnut has a flat coat and is bigger. It's possible that she has a different dad, or not - sometimes genetics are just weird! Either way, she's a very pretty blue-eyed girl who is an absolute doll! We expect her to grow to a medium sized dog. Hazelnut is a friendly, affectionate pup who gets along great with other dogs, cats, people, and kids! Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs.  She is medically up to date (age appropriate), and working on crate and house training. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
