My story

Meet Chica, a precious spayed female chihuahua mix, weighing about 10 lbs! This senior girl is estimated to be about 13 years young. Don't let her age scare you away, she (and her boyfriend Rebel, who she has been with all her life) have lots of cuddles and love left to fill your life with joy!   Chica is a sweet, gentle girl who is happiest when she is on your lap. She is good with people and gets along well with other dogs (not cat tested, but we expect she would do fine with cats). Due to her size and age, she would do best in a home with older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space, or no kids.  She is medically up-to-date, housebroken, and crate trained. Chica is looking for a home that can provide her with love, care, and attention for the rest of her days. Ideally with her bestie, Rebel, who she loves to snuggle up with and give kisses to! We intend to keep the two of them together as a pair. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
