Bluey

My story

Meet Bluey the 2.5yr Great Dane! Bluey loves spending his day hanging out next to his people, taking naps and going for walks. He has great house manners and is completely potty trained, doesn't get into things, doesn't counter surf, listens exceptionally well and is generally a very low maintenance boy. He spends most of his day snoozing. When he's not, he is a velcro pup and loves to be by his person's side! He is professionally trained in German commands to sit, down, stay, drop-it and place. He also has perfect leash manners and heels with no reminders. He is such a smart boy! At this time, Bluey is looking for an experienced adopter. Although he is very well trained, he has shown some reactive tendencies when put in select situations. He is known to guard his dog bed at times and can easily startle when he is sleeping. If his dog bed is placed in a quiet area with low traffic, he does excellent and retreats to it whenever he is tired. Additionally, he can be protective of his home and proper introductions need to be made when visitors are over. We have never personally seen this from him, and he has done great with all of our staff. However, there was an incident in his last home with a visitor, and it resulted in a bite. The bite was not major; however, it did break skin. These things should be noted and monitored in his next home. Because of these quirks, it is best that he is placed in a home with no children or other pets. With this being said, he does GREAT with children and other dogs outside of the home. He has attended multiple animal festivals and did great with all of the humans and dogs he interacted with. He also does great passing by others while out on walks. It seems like these reactive behaviors only come out while at home or when he is sleeping. Bluey is up to date on vaccines, fixed, HW- and microchipped.
