Introducing Norahbelle: The calm and gentle soul who believes that the world exists solely to give her attention. Don’t even think about saying "no"—she's already planning her next move to make sure you're focused on her at all times. You’ll never know a moment of solitude again, because Norahbelle insists on being the center of your universe and will make sure you know it. She’s got a way of making you feel like you need her, whether you’re ready for it or not. And with her sweet, gentle soul, she’s bound to win you over and make you wonder how you ever lived without this fluffy pyabear. Norahbelle is a 1-year-old, 76lb Great Pyrenees with loyalty so intense, it's practically a superpower. She’s the kind of loyal that means standing guard for hours, even when her sibling has been hit by a car and passed away. In true Norahbelle fashion, she didn’t budge from her post until the shelter finally pried her away. While Norahbelle’s past is nothing short of heartbreaking, she's ready to start fresh with a family who will keep her safe and out of harm’s way. No more roaming the streets or facing the terror of being left behind. She deserves a family that will never let her end up in a shelter again—one who will always come for her, no matter what. Norahbelle’s loyalty is a gift, and she’s hoping to share it with people who will treasure her every day. Norahbelle is the life of the party—if that party is in the human’s presence. Sure, she’ll play with the other dogs… but only if there’s enough action to drag her away from her most important job: sitting and cuddling with her people. It takes a lot to distract her from her post as Chief Snuggler, but if there's enough chaos or drama going on, she’ll begrudgingly join in—just long enough to make sure she’s not missing out. But don’t worry, she’ll be right back to you before you know it, because who needs dog friends when you’ve got the humans she’s absolutely convinced exist solely for her attention? She’s respectful enough to give other dogs their space... as long as it doesn’t interfere with her mission to be everywhere you are. As for cats? She’s probably chill enough to just nod at them in passing—no big deal. As for kids, she’s generally sweet—though she does get a bit excited now and then. So, if your little ones are still mastering the art of walking, you might need to keep a close eye on her enthusiasm. No aggression from Norahbelle, but she’s definitely capable of delivering a Pyr paw if you get too close. ;) Norahbelle’s energy level falls somewhere between a sloth and a koala—just enough to make her noticeably present but not enough to make her the Energizer Bunny. She’ll need a hand getting in the car, but once she’s in, she’s a perfect passenger—aside from her attempts to claim the co-pilot seat. Someone’s gotta be close to the people, right? As for motion sickness? Pfft, that’s for amateurs. On the leash, Norahbelle is a classic Pyr—she pulls, she weaves, she does a little dance. But hey, if you put her in a harness, maybe she’ll start practicing her "graceful" trot, which, spoiler alert, is more like a slow-motion parade of elegance. She’s definitely a homebody, and by homebody, I mean she’d much rather plop herself down on the couch or cool floor for a nice, long nap. But, if her people want to dabble in *shivers* exercise...then she would join them because who could turn down an opportunity for more pets and meeting new people who can dote over and love her. As for toys? Nah, not really her thing. She’s a fan of bones... sometimes. But don’t expect her to run around fetching balls—she’s too busy lounging to bother. Norahbelle would be totally fine without a yard, happily strutting along on leash walks. So if you live in an apartment or a home with no fence, no worries. She’s perfectly content to adjust to a routine and get her exercise the "human" way, as long as it means being close to her people. And of course, she’ll take every opportunity to remind you that no amount of affection is ever enough. Oh, she’s potty trained, alright—when you stick to a good schedule. Because, clearly, Norahbelle is the epitome of punctuality and wouldn't dream of going off schedule. Ah, Norahbelle and the kennel: it's not exactly love at first sight. She requires a little bit of trickery—like a treat or two—to coax her inside. But once she’s in, she does well. Still, don’t expect her to be thrilled about it—it’s more of a "fine, I’ll go... but only because there’s a treat involved" kind of situation. Norahbelle is more of a casual commentator when it comes to barking—she’ll occasionally chime in if the other dogs are making a ruckus in the yard, but for the most part, she’s a woman of few words. Up until recently, you’d barely hear a peep from her. Now, she's just started to find her voice, and it seems like it's mostly for joining the crowd when there's something going on. So, no full-blown neighborhood news reporter status here—just the occasional, "Hey, what’s that?" bark, and then back to her usual quiet self. Ready to bring Norahbelle into your life? Of course you are—who wouldn’t want a loyal, attention-demanding, fluffy butt who insists on being wherever you are? If you’re up for the challenge of her absolute adorableness, just fill out an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app. We’ll send it over to her foster family, and then you can arrange to pick her up in the picturesque Yukon, OK. Don’t wait too long—Norahbelle’s not going to be available for long, and you wouldn’t want someone else to snag this gem before you!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Norahbelle, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
