My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:1At just under a year old and 56 lbs, Junior Mint is a soft-hearted, low-energy pittie mix with the balance of sweetness and chill. He came into our care when his previous guardian could no longer take care of him and is now settling into shelter life with quiet grace and gentle curiosity. Junior Mint is still figuring out the world, but he's doing great so far! He’s easygoing in playgroups, relaxed with dog friends, and greets both people and pups with soft eyes and a wagging tail. He enjoys following other dogs around the yard and seems happiest when he has some calm companionship. While he can be a little anxious in new situations, he takes everything in stride and doesn’t rock the boat. This mellow boy is a lovely mix of affectionate and independent—happy to lean in for pets, then trot off to explore. He’d do well as a solo dog or with a well-matched canine buddy in a patient, supportive home. If you're looking for a gentle companion with a minty-fresh outlook on life, Junior Mint is your guy.
