My story

Meet Maury and Mary — two best friends who have been through a lot together and are hoping to find a home where they can stay side by side. Maury is the more timid of the two, leaning on Mary for comfort and confidence. After being abandoned when their former owner was evicted, these two sweethearts are ready for a fresh start with someone who can open their heart to both of them. They’re truly bonded and would love nothing more than to leave the shelter together and start the next chapter of their lives with a loving family. He is much more nervous than she is. He allowed himself to be leashed, stepped down from his kennel, then stopped, retreated, and had to be gently pulled out of his low surgical kennel. He walked through the shelter with some starts and stops, and I even walked him past Mary's kennel, but neither reacted. Outside he showed me he is housetrained. In the smallest yard, he stayed in the corners, ran past me from one corner to the other, exit searching, and sometimes stood and shook. I offered treats but no interest in them or toys. In the grooming room, he did come to me when I called him, and I was able to pet his back, but I could still feel him shaking. I didn't try to pet his face. When I returned him to his kennel, I used the clip method to remove my leash, even though I didn't feel that he was aggressive, just shy. Finder found the dog in the street and said it may have been hbc but the dog wasn't injured upon arrival. A neighbor told the finder that the dogs were abandoned this morning when the neighbor was evicted. Finder was bale to go back and get exact address to where she found them and that is where they were abandoned at. Objective BEHAVIOR: BAR, very nervous/fearful ORAL: pink and moist,
