My story

Tiana is an affectionate gal who is ready to find a loving home. She enjoy pets and loves to lean in for full-body scritches. Anywhere you go, Tiana wants to be right by your side, quietly asking for affection. She takes treats nicely from your hand and knows “sit,” showing off her listening skills each time she’s asked. Tiana shows polite interest in toys — especially squeaky ones — but doesn’t get possessive over them. On leash, Tiana walks very well with minimal pulling and remains calm and unbothered when passing other dogs. She’s previously lived with other dogs and in recent playgroups, she has been very submissive, allowing other dogs to greet and sniff her without issue. She prefers when other dogs give her a bit of personal space but remains extremely tolerant even if they are forward. Tiana’s sweet, loyal nature shines through in every interaction. She would thrive with a kind and patient home who will cherish her loving heart. She was very handler oriented and followed her handler while he walked and then sat down and leaned against his leg when he sat and allowed all over petting. She then came over to greet me, allowed petting, and sat in front of me. She would greet any new volunteer who entered the room. She is overall very calm and a little more on the shy, more reserved side 04/25/2025 volunteer notes Kennel presentation: Tiana was sitting at the front of her kennel when I approached she was neutral with soft eyes and she had a mid-level tail wag. I showed her my leash and open the kennel door a little and easily lassoed her over the head. She then jumped right out of her kennel. Leash: minimal pulling Handling: Tiana was extremely tolerant of handling and solicited pets from me. Anywhere I walked she would follow she would lean in for some pets with her whole body. She took treats nicely from my hand. Interest in squeaky toys, but did not pick up. She knows it and when she sits perfectly again, taking the treat nicely out of your hand. She walks well on leash with minimal pooling. We did walk by other dogs and she didn’t seem phased by them. Going back into kennel she dis put the breaks on. I tried throwing treats in her kennel and adding a little bit of leash pressure but she did not want to go back in. I had a staff member loop her belly and we were able to easily get her back in her kennel that way. Toys: interested but took no possession Play: no interest Color: gold Suggestion for Kids: 12+ 04/25/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Tiana was steerable with both and very nervous at the gate. she was timid in the yard, walking around submissively and allowing all the dogs to come sniff her. she remained very tolerant but was not a fan of dogs in her face. she did some low growls to 2 dogs when they went into her face but never further corrected.
