My story

Meet Palomo! Palomo was surrendered to Baldwin Park Shelter by his owner for unknown reasons. Like so many other dogs, he developed a respiratory illness while in the shelter. On April 22nd, we scooped him up to become a Frosted Face. Palomo is 11 years old, weighs 13.5 lbs, and has a sweet personality. Palomo went on a two-week Frosted Fling, giving us the chance to learn more about him in a cozy home setting while he soaked up extra love and attention. Palomo's Fling Mom reports: "Pally is the absolute best chihuahua I've ever interacted with - literal bomb proof doggo. He loves everyone (once he trusts you) and he has the best smile ever! One of the reasons I decided to foster him is because his personality is a bit shy/fearful and he doesn't come out of his shell in the shelter environment. He's been through a lot (likely abuse because he winces and hides from loud noises sometimes). Pally fits in to his humans' lifestyle very easily as he has no health issues, no meds, no separation anxiety and he doesn't bark when left alone. He's happy to chill at home and even happier to go on adventures. Pally is still learning to love car rides, but he gets in no problem now - it's just obvious he doesn't enjoy them (he's very shut down). He's made a lot of progress from trying to escape the car at every opportunity though, and I'm really really proud of him! Pally is not a super playful dog, but he does love barking at the other dogs when they're playing. He's great a dog parks and is easily recalled off leash. Resource guarding still happens but only with the puppy who is still learning manners - progress! Pally is super duper cute/enthusiastic about food! Pally needs a forever home where he can keep growing and learning while he develops roots and long term trust. He deserves it! Pally is so easy, cute, and resilient. Someone come adopt this perfect senior chihuahua!" Be sure to watch the videos from Pal's fling, and see how well he did with the cat and others dogs in the home! If you are interested in meeting this sweet pup, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Palomo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
