My story

Meet Keiko! A serene eight-and-a-half-year-old Akita from Georgetown, TX, whose gentle spirit is wrapped in a stunning tan coat and a soft, dark-masked face that radiates warmth and wisdom. Keiko is the kind of dog who turns a walk into a peaceful stroll of joy, a patio into a front-row seat to life, and a living room into a sanctuary of calm. She’s a true gentle giant, tipping the scales at 103 pounds but with the heart and grace of a butterfly. Whether she’s quietly observing the world from her favorite sunlit spot or gently taking treats from your hand, Keiko’s tender soul shines through in everything she does. This sweet girl adores people—young, old, and everyone in between! She’s wonderfully social, getting along effortlessly with other dogs, and she’s proven to be incredibly loving and respectful with the elderly caregivers she’s grown up with. Her favorite pastimes include leisurely walks, casual people-watching sessions from the patio, and playing with her little plush toys (which, by the way, she treats like delicate treasures—never a rip or tear in sight)! Though she hasn’t been crate trained, Keiko has free rein of the house and handles it like a true lady. She’s also been successfully boarded, so with a spacious enough kennel, she adapts just fine. While Keiko was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease earlier this year, she’s stable and doing great on her one-a-day capsule, which she happily takes with her food. Her current guardians will even send her off with several months of her medication to help ease the transition. Keiko is fully house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. She’s not much of a barker—unless someone knocks on the door, in which case she’ll let you know with a polite alert. Her pet insurance is top-tier and can be transferred to her new family, adding extra peace of mind.
